Ένα σχεδόν χρόνο μετά την επίσημη παρουσίασή της στο Σαλόνι της Γενεύης, η Ferrari 599XX έκανε το ντεμπούτο της σε πίστα στα χέρια του πιλότου της Scuderia στην F1, Felipe Massa. Η παρουσίαση έγινε στα πλαίσια των δοκιμών του νέου μονοθεσίου της Ferrari στην πίστα Ricardo Tormo της Βαλένθια.
Η 599ΧΧ είναι μία αγωνιστική έκδοση της 599 που διατίθεται στα μέλη του προγράμματος Corse Clienti της Ferrari. Αποτελεί τον διάδοχο της (βασισμένης στην Enzo) FXX και αποδίδει 700 ίππους. Το αμάξωμα είναι κατασκευασμένο από ανθρακονήματα, η καμπίνα έχει "χάσει" τις γνωστές ανέσεις ενώ, σύμφωνα πάντα με την εταιρεία, η 599ΧΧ είναι μόλις 1 sec πιο αργή στο γύρο μέσα στο Φιοράνο απ' ότι η FXX.
